Motorcycle Reviews Honda Gold Wing

Honda Gold Wing debuted in 1975 and went to become one of the most popular motorcycles in the history. Gold Wing, which was intended as a road bike, gained tremendous popularity a touring bike. It was the first motorcycle that had airbag system. Gold Wing featured some of cutting-edge technology including water cooled engine (only the second to have it after Suzuki GT750), first motorcycle ever to have a fuel pump, shaft drive and transmission underneath the engine instead of behind it.

First model of Gold Wing was GL1000 was listed as a touring bike and was made from 1975 to 1979. GL1100 was the next model that was more or less same as GL1000 except minor improvements such as 1985 cc Cylinder and air adjustable suspension system. GL1200 was introduced in 1984, which had 1182 cc brand new engine. GL1200 turned out to be an immediate hit. GL1500 with lots of new changes came out in 1988, which outclassed all the competitors. After a gap of 13 years, GL 1800 with 1832cc size and fuel injection system was introduced in 2001.
